En una villa donde las flores son astutas todo el año:

—¿Te enteraste?

—¿De qué?

—Un niño cayó al lago y trató de hundir a Pepecisne. Toda la bandada voló para defenderlo. Fue horrible.

—¿Y tú ayudaste?

—… Yo estaba más lejos. Había una flor bonita.

—Sabes Canard, cuando te elegí pensé que eras perfecto: sofisticado, artístico, aventurero, defensor. Pero tienes un defecto imposible de pasar por alto.

—¿Qué cosa?

—No estás enfocado.
